Bush is desperately seeking someone to oversee the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.Reportedly this individual would have the power to issue directions to Defence, State and other agencies involved.Bush has approached three retired four-star generals who have rejected his offer. These were all all earlier supporters of his war initiatives. "The very fundamental issue is, they don't know where the hell they're going," said retired Marine Gen. John J. "Jack" Sheehan, a former top NATO commander who was among those rejecting the job.
Bush is going to need more than a new war Czar to save the US's bacon in Iraq.

Bush is doing a wonderful job of nation building and spreading democracy and freedom.Today it is Iraq, tomorrow the world.Meanwhile America is burying itself in debt and the economy is on the decline.
Let's hope Americans wake up and toss the Republicans out on their ear in 2008. The rats are beginning to desert the sinking ship. But oh what damage Bush will have wrought before he leaves.
If George would give me authority over the United States' arsenal of nuclear weapons, I'd take the job in a heartbeat. (Bear in mind that at that point I'd decline the ability to direct/evacuate some of the other pointless agencies wasting time on the ground).
So long as the nuke option is off the table, and the "by 'Iraq' you mean 'all middle eastern countries that start with, or indeed contain, the letter i', right" option is off the table, it don't seem like a great gig.
